Products for veterinary use

General & Pharma develops and supplies products for veterinary use (complementary feeds, complementary dietary feeds, products for external use) on behalf of third parties with particular attention to regulatory compliance and the search for innovative and high-quality formulas.

Complementary feeds

The use of complementary feeds allows you to optimise daily rations and meet specific needs in both livestock and non-food animals. Complementary feeds can include vitamins, amino acids, trace elements, botanical derivatives, antioxidants, immunity boosters, prebiotics and probiotics specific to the various stages of the animal's life.

The field of complementary feed for pets, mainly dogs and cats, is a sector in strong growth trend: General & Pharma is at the side of the customer who wants to exploit all the potential offered by the market.

Feeds intended for particular nutritional purposes

Feed for Particular Nutritional Purposes, known by the acronym PARNUTS (Feed for Particular Nutritional Purposes) or as dietetic feed, are regulated by European Regulation 2020/354 which repeals Directive 2008/38 EC.

Specific nutritional characteristics, a precise functional claim, a recommended period of use and a qualitative and quantitative composition profile are defined for complementary feed intended for particular nutritional purposes, in order to satisfy a specific nutritional purpose. General & Pharma supports companies in the production and marketing of new products classified as PARNUTS.

External use products

The use of products for external use for cleaning, protection, and beauty of the coat and skin adnexa in the pet is a necessity for pet owners. The skin barrier function in the animal is essential and, in some conditions, often species-specific, can be disrupted resulting in skin and systemic issues.

Veterinary topical products include shampoos, conditioners, lotions, ointments, sprays, foams, perfumes, formulations with protective action, products for application on wounds and skin adnexa.
